A low-grade fragment does not inherit every function of the refined system. Contaminated Kingblood tailings can be sold as false authority-binders and still provoke an incident when someone treats them as permission. Material identity, usable grade, construction, and recognized authority are separate questions.
Tools with an end to their effect
Breaktooth Core cracks a single seal or ward before spending itself. Devourfang Core briefly consumes surrounding charge. Godchew Crystal belongs to divine-grade enforcement hardware. Thoughtrot Glass weakens agreed certainty over time. Hellgnaw Obsidian supports demon-adjacent anchors and containment; Hollow Maw Stone stabilizes the emptiness of pocket spaces.
Whispergnaw Quartz damps sound. Kingrot Crystal enters refined restraints and durable tools. Corpsebite Stone alters decay behavior. Mindchew Shard disrupts focus. Bleedmark Stone leaves a readable trace. None of these names means an object is safe, universally effective, or understood by the person carrying it.
Failure is a material business
Ruinbite Stone promotes structural corrosion. Entropy Maw Stone erodes rules slowly. Umbral Burrow Crystal supports shadow-channeling, while Fluxburrow Stone supports adaptive channeling under stress. Miregnaw Core concerns runoff and waste behavior. These functions affect real routes and the people depending on them; a redirected failure still lands somewhere.
At street level, Dregbone becomes cheap reinforcement and rough blades. Carrion Maw Crystal gives a brief dirty output. Storm Quartz connects weather pressure to useful light, heat, or a surge of power. Grave Gnawglass enters carving and lock work with disorienting risks around broken fragments.
Most Jayjo violence remains close, wet, and maintenance-dependent: tools, knives, clubs, shields, restraints, and short-range devices. Gate hardware shapes movement; upper ward-tagged equipment may only answer recognized credentials. Rare minerals do not turn every resident into a limitless magician, and an impressive object does not cancel the need for a sound grip, a safe route, or someone willing to repair it.
