EVERRAIN

Jayjo's remedies and dangerous promises

Everrain's fictional remedies depend on source, handling, and the body receiving them; none is a universal cure.

What is in the packet

The same ingredient changes after runoff exposure, damp storage, smoke, dilution, or a contaminated vessel. A compounder asks where it grew and what touched it. The name alone does not establish quality. Neither does a sealed-looking wrapper.

Emberroot is a warming broth ingredient when properly prepared, but its raw sap is harsh. Pipe mint is valued for its sharp aroma and can be dangerous in concentrated form. Black hearth salt passes through purification before entering recovery broth; contaminated substitutes are a recurrent threat. These are fictional materials within Jayjo's lore, not real-world treatment instructions.

Wounds and breath

Rainseal resin protects some shallow injuries during travel but can seal contamination inside. Controlled blue stitch mold differs from harmful wild lookalikes. Velvet ash is used around friction and moisture; cheap furnace waste can make a counterfeit packet dangerous. Tinleaf web offers a light wound covering when correctly prepared.

Wetlung is a household name for several conditions that make breath sound flooded. Lung reed comes from warm condensation beds near Eldenberry. Blue breath tincture is a separate compound colored by cultivated bluebell lichen, not blue stitch mold. Neither is a guaranteed cure. Cup moss moderates moisture and temperature in breathing vessels only while it is kept clean and maintained.

Pain, sleep, and trust

Soft thunder bark is associated with pain relief and poor balance afterward. Lanternmilk can bring sleep but also dependence, breathing risk, and adulteration. Memory clove is a sensory anchor used during vigils and witness sessions; it does not magically preserve memory. Specialist poisons and venoms occupy the same trade as medicines, which makes honest limits important.

Human and Beastkin patients are not interchangeable. Fur can hide an injury, feathers retain oils, and breathing structures change what an otherwise familiar preparation does. Rimwise need animal care, not a smaller version of Beastkin treatment. A medicine walker, dry shelf, sound vial, clean cup, and someone who remembers the next visit can matter as much as the substance being carried.

Two mismatched cups, medicine wrapping, patched cloth and a kettle.
